WeCare Wales Shortlisted for Best Promoter of Welsh in the Workplace Award

Shortlist announched - valued partner awards text

WeCare Wales is delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for the Best Promoter of Welsh in the Workplace award at the upcoming Valued Partner Awards, hosted by Careers Wales. This nomination is a significant recognition of our ongoing efforts to promote the Welsh language within our organisation and the care sector in Wales.

The Best Promoter of Welsh in the Workplace award celebrates businesses that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to integrating and promoting the Welsh language in their daily operations. At WeCare Wales, we believe that the Welsh language is an integral part of our cultural heritage and plays a crucial role in providing inclusive and effective care services.

Our commitment to the Welsh language is evident throughout our work. Here are some highlights of our initiatives:

Bilingual Communication

We ensure that all our communications, both internal and external, are bilingual as it’s a fantastic way to make Welsh language service accessible to everyone. This practice aligns with the 'active offer' principle, promoting inclusivity.

Training

We offer training programs in both Welsh and English, empowering our staff to use the language and promote awareness in their roles. Our training team work hard to ensure the training gives attendees an insight into how important the Welsh language is across Wales and within social care.

Diwrnod Gofal

This summer, we sponsored a Care Day at the National Eisteddfod in Pontypridd. The event was a great success that focused on celebrating Welsh speakers, promoting the Welsh language and hoping to attract more Welsh speakers of all levels to consider a career in care.

#DefnyddiaDyGymraeg Campaign

As part of our campaign, we have a duty to raise awareness about the use of Welsh at work. We provide information on how individuals can access resources, training and support to use Welsh in their roles. We recently participated in the #DefnyddiaDyGymraeg campaign, further promoting the Welsh language.

The Award

Being shortlisted for this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, who have embraced the Welsh language and championed its use in all aspects of our work. We are honoured to be recognised alongside other esteemed organisations that share our passion for promoting the Welsh language.

We look forward to the awards ceremony and celebrating this achievement with our team and partners. Thank you to Careers Wales for recognising our work, and to everyone who has supported us on this journey. Together, we are making a positive impact on the future of the Welsh language in the workplace. Diolch yn fawr!
