Carefest

Carefest is an opportunity for students studying Health and Social Care, Childcare, Play and Learning and Development courses at Coleg Y Cymoedd, Bridgend College and Merthyr College to gain real insight into careers in care. 

The event brings together learners with professionals, ambassadors and care providers from across the region. Through conversations and shared experienced, students will discover what working in these sectors is really like - the rewards, the challenges and the difference they can make.

The day includes a speed networking session, giving students the chance to speak directly with a range of professionals. To support learning, each student will receive a workbook to capture key points from their discussions.

Following this, students will take part in one of four interactive workshops designed to deepen understanding of specialist areas. The topics include:

• Early years
• Sensory approaches
• Dementia care using the Teepa Snow strategy

Carefest is an opportunity to inspire the next generation of care professionals by providing real, human stories and practical experiences that show the variety of and value of roles within the sector.
