What We Are Looking For From YouWe are looking to recruit a Social Work Assistant who is passionate about trauma-informed care and working with young people, families and systems in distress.
You will bring with you extensive experience of working with children and young people, experience of working with multi-agency professionals, skills in assessment and planning and have a flexible approach as the service develops. You will also have an understanding of working with children and young people who have experienced emotional distress, mental health concerns, developmental trauma or neurodiversity.
An understanding of the relevant legislation for children, including an overview of the Social Services and Well-Being (Wales) Act 2014 and some knowledge of Signs of Safety would be beneficial.
Within this role, there will be opportunities for you to develop your skills and understanding in relation to emotional distress and developmental trauma. The post-holder will be integral in developing excellent working relationships between Cardiff Children's Services and Cardiff and Vale University Health Board to support the care of young people. You should be prepared to undertake appropriate training to support you in your role and be able to work within a team.
