We are looking for qualified senior social workers to join the Child Care assessment Team who will be responsible in ensuring, assessing and identifying the needs and services for children and families within Pembrokeshire. The social worker will be required to meet statutory timescales, complete assessments within timescales, undertake child protection investigations and manage their caseloads, including Court Cases, child protection cases, higher end child in need cases/children exploited and supervise up to three members of Social Worker/other staff colleagues. The senior social worker will also be undertaking S.47 joint investigations and will be part of a rota. They will have case responsibility and identify the needs of the child/ren and support in these being addressed if they are short term and or will transfer to a social worker within a Child Care Management Team, where longer term intervention is required and will be implemented.
The Child Care Assessment Team provides a supportive working structure, ensuring you have all you need to perform to the best of your abilities, whilst doing a job you love. Supporting this team would provide opportunities to contribute directly to the work and protecting the children in Pembrokeshire and for personal development.
The senior social workers will receive regular supervision, including informal supervision, from an Assistant Team Manager, which ensure they can discuss their cases and receive appropriate support, guidance and advice, consistently. A CCAT Manager is available daily for social workers to gain any advice and will be supported as and when required.
Successful applicants will require a Social Work qualification, to be able to drive and have access to a car and have previous experience of working with children and families.
