Overall job purpose The post-holder will have responsibility for managing and developing the youth provision on a specified area on the Isle of Anglesey, ensure the quality of work delivered and provide direction to other staff. Undertake all administrative duties commensurate with the post and monitor service development. The candidate will need to develop and deliver a range of youth work interventions throughout the designated Secondary School area, and create a network of contacts with both the statutory and the voluntary sector to achieve this. This will involve active engagement with young people, both within and outside the established youth work facilities and with a range of other agencies. The officer will also have responsibility for being the lead in a designated work area for the whole County. The candidate will need to display the ability to deliver a range of accredited learning opportunities, have knowledge of professional youth work practice, and be willing to innovate and develop an already pioneering and exciting programme of work. In line with the terms and conditions of JNC the person will be expected to work up to a maximum of 8 evening sessions per fortnight and occasional weekends.
