Torfaen County Borough Council have an Independent Living Team that supports and enables people to employ their own care and support staff known as Personal Assistants. For more information on Personal Assistants visit https:\/\/paonlineguidebookwales.co.uk\/Personal Care Assistant required to support a disabled lady with daily living tasks. Main duties will include support with all aspects of personal care, meal preparation, support to attend appointments and for social activities.
The lady enjoys art and craft and sewing so the ideal candidate would have similar interests, she also enjoys outdoor activities and owns three small dogs', so it is essential that you are a dog lover.
As a Personal Care Assistant you will have a genuine work ethic, be reliable, a good timekeeper and flexible. You will have empathy, be able to work on your initiative and be a good communicator. You must be able to develop a long term and consistent working relationship with your employer.
You will be working within a small team of Personal Care Assistants on a rota basis to include Mornings, daytime, evenings and Weekends. You will be required to work a minimum of 26 hours per week which may include twelve-hour shifts.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on all applicants which will include an Enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.Rate of pay £12.96 per hour (gross).
