Job description

Would you like to work for a large forward-looking Organisation which will challenge you and help grow your career, also giving an opportunity for you to earn while you learn? If so, come and join Torfaen County Borough Council's Career Development Programme. As an Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced colleagues learning job specific skills whilst earning a wage and working towards the Level 3 Children and Young People Diploma which is a nationally recognised professional qualification.
The Council's Values are Fair, Supportive, Effective and Innovative which are very important to us. If you want to be successful you will need to demonstrate behaviour that reflects these Values.
As an Apprentice in the Family Resource Team, you will assist in supporting children, parents and carers via family-time, direct work, delivering accredited programmes and facilitating Family Group Conferences. This role will enable you to experience all these elements and learn the skills required to implement them. You will be supported to develop a relationship-based manner of working with children, parents and carers as well as the principles of strengths-based work with families. There will also be the opportunity to learn about the wider Children and Families service and safeguarding.
You must hold a Full Driving Licence and access to a vehicle. You will also require an Enhanced DBS check.
