Volunteering

If you’ve never worked in care before and want a taster of what it might be like, volunteering is a great place to start.

What is volunteering?

Volunteering is an unpaid activity where you give your time to make a difference.

It can be for anyone. Whether you’re retired, want to learn new skills or would just like to give back to your community. By volunteering you will gain:

  • valuable skills
  • a sense of community
  • work experience
  • training and support opportunities
  • confidence
  • new connections.

As a volunteer you need to be:

  • flexible - but also make it work around you
  • honest
  • trustworthy
  • respectful.
