Being a Home Care Support Worker

You’ll work in a person-centred way that promotes people’s choices, independence, and dignity, and helps them to do the things that matter to them.

About the workplace

As our population ages, home care is becoming essential to people across Wales. Home care is also known as domiciliary care. These services provide care and support for people who live in their own homes. The care and support you provide will be different for each person and will be set out in their care plan. This can include help with household tasks, personal care, washing and dressing.

Karima's story

Karima has worked as a home care worker for 15 years. Originally from Libya, Karima has a degree in Geology. As a single mother, she first got into care because it gave her the flexibility to care for her child, as well as others.
