A free series of workshops for social care managers. These workshops will focus on identifying and finding solutions to social care recruitment and retention challenges.

About the workshops
These interactive workshops are designed for social care recruitment managers or managers responsible for staff retention. Each session includes active participation, group activities, and opportunities for shared learning.
We recommend attending all four sessions in order, as each one builds on the last to support a complete learning journey.
Session one: Shared qualities and values in recruitment and retention
Friday 6 June | 9:15am – 12:30pm | Online
This session explores the importance of values in recruitment and retention. You’ll learn how to:
- apply a values-based approach
- identify and understand your organisational values
- recognise the qualities that align with those values
- reflect on how to apply these in real-world recruitment and retention practices.
Session two: Understanding your target audience

Understanding your target audience and their needs in social care recruitment.
This session will help employers to identify and better understand:
- your target audience
- your own expectations
- unconscious bias inclusion gaps
Session two: Understanding your target audience

Identifying and removing barriers to employment in social care.
This session will help employers to recognise and better understand:
- the different needs of their workforce
- barriers at every stage of the recruitment and retention process.
Friday 20 June | 9:15am – 1:00pm | Online
Friday 18th July | 9:15am-1pm | Online
This session focuses on understanding who you’re trying to reach and how to engage them effectively. You’ll explore:
- who your target audience is
- your own expectations and unconscious bias
- gaps in inclusion and representation
