Residential Childcare Worker

Making a difference to children’s development is Peter’s priority. He’s passionate about bringing joy to the lives of disadvantaged children. Peter, originally from Hungary, trained as a primary school teacher before moving on to working with children in social care.

How varied is your job?

One day I am riding bikes, another day I am swimming, the next I am in the cinema, so extremely varied!

What is the most important characteristic you need to work with children in care?

Passion. Passion is what takes you forward.

What is the most challenging part of your job?

Being able to understand what the young people have been though in order to understand their situations and connect with them.
