The awards that recognise, celebrate and share notable work in social care and childcare, play and early years in Wales.

It’s been a month since the 2024 Accolades ceremony took place on Thursday 25 April at the Mercure Cardiff Holland House Hotel & Spa in Cardiff.

About 130 guests attended the ceremony, which was a huge success and a great celebration of those who work in care.

The ceremony was hosted by television and radio presenter Garry Owen and Social Care Wales Chief Executive, Sue Evans. Chair of the Board, Mick Giannasi handed out the trophies and certificates to each of the winners and finalists.

Eight fantastic projects and 10 individuals or teams were chosen by a panel of judges as finalists for the 2024 Accolades across six categories, and you can find out more about them here. The winners for each category can be found here.

If you missed the awards ceremony, or want to watch back, you can do so here: Watch the 2024 Accolades ceremony on YouTube.

A month on, the impact of the Accolades continues to inspire us. The stories of dedication and compassion remind us of the crucial role these professionals play in our communities.

For many in the care sector, the Accolades was a rare moment of recognition. As we move forward, the hope is that these moments become more frequent, ensuring that everyone that works in social care, childcare, play and early years feels valued and appreciated for their work.

If you’ve been inspired by this year’s Accolades, why not follow Social Care Wales social media channels to be the first to hear about nominations for next years Accolades. You can enter your team, project or organisation, or nominate a worker who deserves to be recognised!

A big thank you to everyone involved from the WeCare team.
