Job description
Work base: Coed Pella
We have an opportunity for the right person to join the busy Welfare Rights team.
The main role will be to assist in the delivery of an efficient, effective and comprehensive Welfare Rights Service to the citizens of Conwy; working in partnership with other Service providers to promote a broad range of benefits.
You will be required to identify the take-up of benefits, ensuring that you maximise the income of eligible service users and their carers.
The right candidate will be able to raise the awareness of, and encourage, the take up of all welfare benefits, breaking down the barriers often associated with claiming benefits. You will be required to undertake case work; including preparing and presenting appeal submissions at Tribunal level.
Qualities in the candidate that we are seeking are: good IT skills, knowledge of Welfare & Benefit legislation, to be able to work under pressure and on own initiative, to be flexible and have excellent communication skills.
The role is office based, 5 days a week, at our Coed Pella offices. The ability to communicate in English is essential and the ability to converse at ease with customers in Welsh is also essential for this post.

Due to the nature of the work, it will be necessary to obtain a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
An understanding of social care assists, but can be learned "on the job".
