We are seeking an experienced Senior Residential Childcare Practitioner to help set up our own residential children's home within the Merthyr Tydfil County Borough. As a Senior Support Worker, you will be integral in providing a safe and secure environment in which our children and young people will live. You will support them to reach their full potential by providing them with opportunities to thrive. This will involve providing emotional and social support, managing challenging behaviour and developing an understanding of early childhood trauma and the impact on the young people in our care. The Senior position will form part of the management team, providing support to the Manager but also offering support and guidance from your own experience and expertise to the staff. Helping to establish a cohesive team that works collectively to provide the best care for the young people. It is a requirement that the Senior Residential Childcare Practitioner holds the Level 3 Diploma for Children and Young People or equivalent. The young people are cared for on a 24 hour basis and you will be required to work some sleep-in shifts, on a rota basis, to support this.
