An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen within Adult Safeguarding. Due to the retirement of the current Team Manager, we are seeking a secondment to this post for a period of six months. This position is full-time.
The successful candidate will join a committed and experienced team that is dynamic, inclusive, and rights-focused. We are looking for a motivated individual to lead the team towards achieving our organisational goals.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Relevant Qualifications: A degree or diploma in social work or a related field is required. • Experience in Safeguarding: Experience working in a safeguarding role, preferably with adults, is essential. • Management Experience: Previous experience of leading or managing teams and staff is preferable. • Knowledge of Relevant Legislation and Regulations: A strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations, such as the all Wales safeguarding procedures. • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with individuals, families, and other professionals is key. • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to analyze situations, identify risks, and develop solutions is important.
The successful candidate will also need to be enthusiastic about guiding the team through a period of change and working with staff and the Service Manager to implement service redesign.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage a team of four professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure continued high performance and productivity in safeguarding adults at risk. • Champion people and unpaid carers voices to be at the centre of adult safeguarding practices. • Develop and implement strategies to achieve team goals and objectives, contributing to the Service Plan. • Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing regular supervision, feedback, and objective setting with individuals. • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, promoting open communication and teamwork. • Identify training and development needs, and facilitate opportunities for professional growth. • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring adults at risk are safeguarded. • Collaborate with other departments, stakeholders, and families to ensure coordinated safeguarding of adults at risk.
