It also recognises those Social Workers who undertake relevant post qualifying, CPD programmes and research, which could include being a Practice Educator who has 2nd and 3rd year Students, or an AMHP licenced and practicing within the Authority. Our well -established Community Mental Health Team are looking to recruit a suitable person who is passionate about making a difference in Mental Health.
You must be a registered Social Worker (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW) with an enhanced DBS on the update service. Ideally with previous experience in working with people who experience mental illness or have needs related to their mental health. Being an Approved Mental Health Professional would be an added advantage in return for which the Council provide additional remuneration. However, if you are not an AMHP, training will be given. You must be able to manage a caseload of people with severe mental disorder acting as care co-ordinator under the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010 and carrying out assessments under the Social Services and Wellbeing Act 2014. You will need good assessment, care planning and review skills and be committed to the principles of co-production and establishing what really matters to the person.
As a newly qualified Social Worker, you will have the best start with dedicated support to grow into your social work career. We also recognise the immense value of experience and the complex work experienced Social Workers undertake. You will have the opportunity to progress in social work practice (outside of a management pathway) via our 'Experienced Practitioner Progression Framework'. Successful progression offers the higher range salary reward.
This is a full- time (37 hours per week) permanent position working across the localities of Llanelli and Ammanford. You can expect, regular and effective supervision from a supportive team together with opportunities to develop your practice as well as access to the IT equipment you will need to perform your role.
