This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across our dynamic Childrens Services Locality Teams.
We have a selection of vacancies for full time Social Workers in the Locality Teams of Caerphilly East, Caerphilly West, Bargoed and Blackwood and a part time post of 18.5 hours per week for the Caerphilly West Team.
We pay an attractive salary of £36,648 - £39,186 (with an additional £3,441 market supplement to be paid in 12 Monthly instalments) and offer access to training and development opportunities. If you are a qualified social worker, or are due to qualify this year, come to work in Caerphilly and be supported on your social work journey.
We welcome applications from third year social work students. Successful applicants will be offered the opportunity of starting as unqualified support workers. Once qualified, they will then be appointed as social workers.

Caerphilly Children Services have strong links to the Gwent Attachment Service and Caerphilly has invested in MYST therapeutic service, which provides intensive support to our Children who are Looked After.

There are six geographically located Children Services teams. The teams undertake high quality assessments and care management of children and their families who have been assessed as requiring on going social services intervention. The teams cover both short- and long-term work, including Children in Need of Care and Support, Children Looked After, Child Protection and court work.
For the role, we ask that you have: - A Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor.
- Up to date knowledge of current legislation Research and Practice issues in childcare.
- A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings.
