This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Residential Children's Services Team.
We pay an attractive salary of £34,314 - £37,035 and offer access to training and development opportunities.Caerphilly County Borough Council continues to invest in our children's residential provisions within the Borough. We would like to recruit staff who have the right values, motivation and commitment to work in this rewarding yet challenging role.
We are seeking enthusiastic, nurturing hands-on people who have experience of working with complex and challenging behaviours. Successful candidates will work in a multi-agency manner to support and promote the welfare and needs of young people with a high level of complex needs. Previous experience of working in a children's residential home is advantageous.
We offer an excellent induction and training package, including supporting employees to attain sector specific qualifications that will support your professional development. We also provide training and support to enable you to work in a therapeutic, relational manner. On-going supervision is offered where training, development and personals need are addressed.
Individuals providing care must be at least 18 years old and must be at least 4 years older than the oldest child accommodated. This is a protected characteristic under the occupational requirement of the post in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
For the role, we ask that you have: - NVQ 3 Caring for Children and Young People Or NVQ 4 Care Or Predecessor QCF Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care Children and Young People.
- Knowledge of key legislation i.e. Children's Act 1989 Vol 4, The Regulated Services (Service Providers and Responsible Individuals) (Wales) Regulations 2017
- A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to undertake home visits, to transport children, young people and parents / carers during the week.
