This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Children's Services Team 16 Plus.
We pay an attractive salary of £41,511- £44,711 and offer access to training and development opportunities.The successful applicant will play a key role in providing support to young people as they navigate their journey into adulthood, and support and safeguard young people as they transition from care to independence.
You will provide an enhanced level of social work skills and expertise within the team in order to develop and maintain standards of practice and to deputise for the Team Manager on specified occasions. You will support the Team Manager and provide a service within current legislation, regulations, guidance, and the Directorate's policies and procedures.
Your role will include direct supervision of Social Workers, Personal Advisors and to assist the Team Manager in the continued development of high-quality service delivery. You will manage a caseload of young people, regularly reviewing their progress and revising their care plans as needed. You will lead by example and assist the team in reaching its performance targets. Your role will be to ensure effective multidisciplinary working with partner agencies and contribute to the overall development of quality services.
Applicants must have Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor qualification. Successful completion of the Consolidation of Practice Programme within the first three years of practice (if qualified after 1 April 2016). In addition, applicants must be registered as a Social Worker with Social Care Wales or equivalent regulators in England, Scotland or Northern Ireland.
For the role, we ask that you have: - Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor qualification.
- Successfully completed f the Consolidation of Practice Programme within the first three years of practice (if qualified after 1 April 2016).
- Up to date knowledge of current legislation and statutory regulations, research and practice in relation to the relevant service area.
- A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings.
