Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team on Night Shifts, at our care 26 bed Care Home providing exceptional care to elderly residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, medication administration, possess leadership skills, and be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, other professionals and colleagues. You should possess (or be working towards) a minimum Level 3 QCF/NVQ in Health & Social Care.
We have 2 or 4 shifts available, working 8pm to 8am between Monday and Sunday, with alternate weekends off. The advertised rate of pay will be revised from April 2025.
Due to the location of the home, you should possess a full driving licence and your own transport or be able to ensure that you have alternative means of attending work reliably.
Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individual care plans for residents
• Provide high-quality personal care to residents, ensuring their dignity and independence are maintained
• Supervise and support junior care staff in delivering excellent care
• Utilise IT systems (Log My Care) for record-keeping and reporting
• Drive continuous improvement in care standards within the care home
Skills
• Experience in senior care is essential
• Minimum Level 3 QCF/NVQ in Health & Social Care (we will accept applications from someone working towards this qualification)
• Experienced in Medication Administration
• Ability to create and manage effective care plans
• Strong leadership skills to supervise junior staff
• Proficiency in using IT systems for documentation and reporting
• Excellent communication skills to interact with residents and colleagues
