Make Every Day Count – Build Brighter Futures with Silver Lining Care Ltd
Do you want a meaningful career where you truly make a difference?
At Silver Lining Care Ltd, we’re more than a care provider—we’re a community of dedicated professionals helping young people aged 8–18 overcome adversity, build resilience, and thrive.
We’re currently seeking compassionate, motivated individuals to join our trauma-informed residential teams across South Wales. Whether you have experience or you’re new to the sector, if you’re values-driven and ready to grow, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
- Build trusting, supportive relationships with children and young people - Provide structure, routine, and emotional stability within a safe environment - Encourage independence, healthy choices, and positive social development - Act as an advocate during meetings, reviews, and planning processes - Collaborate with professionals to deliver person-centred, trauma-informed care - Uphold safeguarding procedures, professional boundaries, and confidentiality
What We’re Looking For
You might have experience already—or you might be brand new. Either way, if you have the right mindset, we’ll give you the skills.
We’re especially keen to hear from people who are:
- Passionate about making a difference - Emotionally resilient, calm, and adaptable - Good communicators and team players - Willing to work towards (or already hold) a Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People - Knowledgeable (or open to learning) about safeguarding, ACEs, and trauma-informed practice - Confident using basic IT (Word, Excel, Outlook) - Hold a UK driving licence and Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain)
The Role Can Be Challenging – But You’re Never Alone
Caring for young people with complex needs can be tough. We’re honest about that. But we believe you shouldn’t carry that weight alone.
We work hard to maintain consistent rotas and ensure everyone takes proper time off. We ask staff to be flexible in return—just 2 extra shifts per month, if needed, helps us avoid over-reliance on individuals and maintain the quality of care.
Why Choose Us?
Real Work-Life Balance Our unique 4-on, 4-off rolling rota means fewer working days per year and built-in recovery time. Staff typically receive 12 consecutive days off after every 6 blocks.
Professional Development We’ll support you to achieve your Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People, with ongoing CPD opportunities to help you progress in your career.
A Supportive Team Culture Join a close-knit, experienced team where your voice is valued and your wellbeing matters. We lead with empathy, not ego.
Competitive Pay & Perks - £26,666.64 per year (equivalent to £12.21 per hour) - £30,008.16 per year (equivalent to £13.74) - Overtime paid at 125% - No sleep-ins required - Paid training & mentoring - Pension scheme - Referral bonus programme - Use of pool car on shift - Employee of the month programme
Benefits That Work for You - Casual dress policy - Free or discounted meals on shift - Employee discount scheme - Free on-site parking - Health & wellbeing programme (incl. subsidised gym membership) - Staff social events - Bike to work scheme - Internal mentoring for new and aspiring leaders
We believe in a shared commitment across the team—so no one carries the weight alone.
