Why Join Silver Lining Care Ltd?
At Silver Lining Care Ltd, we don’t just provide care – we transform lives. Our innovative shift pattern allows you to work less than half the year while making a meaningful difference to young people aged 8-18. We believe in work-life balance, career progression, and a supportive team environment where your well-being matters as much as the young people you support.
✨ What We Offer:
✔ Work-Life Balance & Fair Rotas – Our structured 4 on, 4 off shift pattern ensures fairness across the team. Typically, staff will work 6 blocks of 4 shifts before receiving 12 consecutive days off leave, allowing for extended periods of rest.
✔ Career Development – Access ongoing training, career progression, and support to achieve Level 3 in Children & Young People.
✔ Supportive Team – Work in a nurturing, family-like setting where your efforts are valued.
✔ Competitive Pay – £26,666.64 per year (equivalent to £12.21 per hour) with overtime paid at 125%.
✔ No Mandatory Sleep-Ins – Unlike many roles, we do not require additional sleep-in shifts outside your rota.
✔ Meaningful Work – Be part of a trauma-informed team helping young people achieve positive life outcomes.
Your Role & Responsibilities:
Provide a safe, supportive, and age-appropriate environment for young people. Empower and support young people to make positive choices. Advocate for young people in meetings and decision-making processes. Uphold safeguarding policies, confidentiality, and professional boundaries. Work alongside professionals, ensuring young people’s voices are heard. Use a trauma-informed approach, helping young people heal and develop. Who We’re Looking For:
✅ Passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.
✅ Qualified (or willing to work towards) Level 3 in Children & Young People.
✅ Holds a current Enhanced DBS & clean UK driving licence.
✅ Experience working with young people who have suffered adverse childhood experiences (minimum 1 year preferred but not essential).
✅ Confident & adaptable – able to integrate into a new setting with ease.
✅ Knowledge of safeguarding, professional boundaries, and child protection procedures.
✅ Strong communication skills – verbal & written.
✅ Basic IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
A Role That Requires Commitment & Flexibility
At Silver Lining Care Ltd, we are dedicated to maintaining a positive, supportive workplace for staff and, above all, a safe, secure environment for our young people. While we work hard to ensure stability in rotas, shift patterns, and holidays, unforeseen circumstances such as staff sickness may sometimes require additional flexibility.
This role will be challenging at times, and you will need to be resilient, adaptable, and willing to go above and beyond for the young people in our care. However, if you are committed to making a real difference and put the effort into supporting these young people to the best of your ability, we will support and reward you in return.
✔ Comprehensive Training & Development – equipping you with all the tools you need to excel.
✔ A Strong Team Culture – ensuring no one carries the weight alone.
✔ Work-Life Balance Commitment – we do our best to maintain your uninterrupted time off to prevent burnout.
We believe that a shared commitment to flexibility across the team ensures that no single staff member bears the burden of extra shifts. If every team member is open to covering just two additional shifts per month when required, we can ensure consistent, high-quality care for our young people without over-reliance on a few individuals. Even with two extra shifts, you would still only be working 178 shifts per year, well below a traditional full-time role.
If you are ready to embrace this challenge and truly make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
