Bridgend's Edge of Care services provide pioneering, whole-family support aimed at preventing children from entering the care system. As part of our Rapid Response team, you'll take a person-centred approach to work with children, young people, and their families, delivering responsive and flexible support to foster safety, well-being, and long-term resilience.
Within this context, an exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of co-located multi-agency child and family services. We are seeking a Family Support Worker to join our family intervention service who has a 'can do' approach and is committed to the delivery and development of evidence-based methods of intervention. The successful candidate will possess the drive to improve sustainable outcomes for families facing multiple and complex difficulties.
The role involves working with families whose children are at risk of entering the care system. The work will be undertaken in their own homes and communities, developing responsive, tailored packages of support in line with assessed and identified need and agreeing with family members realistic and sustainable goals for change. As a member of a multi-agency team, you will focus on building family resilience in order to improve long term outcomes for children, young people and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver evidence-based, tailored interventions to families, working flexibly to meet their needs.
Hold an individual caseload, providing intensive support to families.
Work within a collaborative team to respond to crisis situations calmly and effectively.
Support families to achieve lasting positive changes through a strengths-based approach.
Engage with service users through morning, evening, and weekend work as needed.
What We're Looking For:
Qualified in Health & Social Care (QCF Level 3 or equivalent).
Experienced in working with children, young people, and families, ideally within health, social care, or the voluntary sector.
Knowledgeable about child and vulnerable adult protection and the legislative framework supporting family work.
A resilient and adaptable individual, comfortable with varied and flexible hours.
A valid UK driving license and the ability to communicate through Welsh are advantageous.
