Overall job purpose To deliver professional advice, guidance and support to social work practitioners within their group.
To promote the professional performance agenda by working with practice group members in improving quality and performance in key areas.
To mentor and develop professional practice within their groupings and within the overall service by working collaboratively with other Practice Leaders and other relevant staff.
The post holder will undertake some direct work with families, and oversee the work of other Practice Group Members, providing evidence informed interventions.
The post holder will have a degree of autonomy and professional accountability. They will expected to be knowledgeable about effective practice, and to ensure that improved knowledge and skills and excellent practice are embedded in their Practice Group.
To assist and support the Service in leading small group of social workers and other practitioners and developing and sustaining human resources whilst maintaining morale, flexibility and quality of services.
Contribute to the development and improvement of Children and Family Services, working collaboratively and collectively with Services Managers and Practice Leaders within the service to ensure a quality service that safeguards and improves the life chances of children.
Improve outcomes for children and young people, working together with other key agencies including statutory and voluntary organisations who provide services for children, young people and families.
To assist and support the Service with meeting the requirements of the services policies and procedures including compliance with financial regulations.
