***Looking for an enthusisatic and confident worker to participate in Home Care packages, you will be working mostly within a small team of 8 to provide care for children with Disabilities.
You will have to be available to participate in two nights work per month on a rota basis - extra pay will be given for these hours.***

Language requirements Listening and Speaking - Intermediate Able to maintain a fluent conversation on a number of various everyday subjects, and discuss cases involving the field of work.Able to follow a discussion in Welsh, in Clear Welsh, on familiar matters relating to the post. Able to contribute to the conversation and answer questions.
Reading and Understanding - Intermediate Understand everyday correspondence on familiar issues at work.Understand longer reports in Clear Welsh and be able to pick up the main points. (help may be required with the vocabulary).
Writing - Intermediate Able to write letters for a specific purpose, e-mails and short reports in Welsh and English, using vocabulary and simple phrases that are familiar to the field of work. (They will need to be checked before being sent out).
Job Description
Purpose of the post • Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
• Assist individuals with learning disabilities to live their lives in the way they wish to live, assist them to develop skills and ensure opportunities to be a part of their community
Responsibility for functions • Ensure appropriate use of specialist equipment including reporting defects and following specialist practice and training protocols as required
• Ensure appropriate use of individuals' property e.g. medicine and money
Main duties MAIN DUTIES AND KEY TASKS:
SUPPORT THE INDIVIDUALS WHO USE THE SERVICE
• Work to meet objectives of the individual you are supporting, and ensure you respect the individual's rights.
• Follow an ActiveSupport ethos (for more information click here: Active support) and Positive Behaviour Support (for more information click here: Positive Behaviour Support), that emphasise the importance of working with individuals and promote their independence.
• Assist with personal care in a dignified and respected manner.
• Contribute to/follow the individuals Personal Care Plans.
• COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIPS
• Co-operate and communicate with professional workers and families/carers.
GUIDANCE AND POLICIES
• Act in accordance with the requirements of the Social Services and Well-being Act 2014 and the service and Gwynedd Council's guidelines and policies (For more information click here: Social Services and Well-being Act Wales).
