About us An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. The postholder will be responsible for overseeing and managing an innovative project, known as 'Releasing Time to Care' which is focused on optimising and tailoring care packages for the people we support in the community.
The successful candidate will have experience of manual handling, right-sizing care packages, and a sound knowledge of specialist equipment and techniques. The postholder will be responsible for supervising the Social Care Officer/Occupational Therapy Assistant, including overseeing case management and day-to-day duties.

This project is funded for three years but the post is permanent, and another position will be offered within the Council, should the project not be continued.
About the role Pay: Grade 9 (£39,186-£43,421 per annum) plus enhancements
Hours: 37 hours per week including weekend rota
Main place of work: Barry Hospital. Community based working across the Vale of Glamorgan

You will work within an established team and provide occupational therapy assessment and interventions to support service users with various conditions You will be professionally supported by the wider Occupational therapy team and contribute to the development of this Service.
Key aspects will include promoting independence, health and wellbeing in order to help individuals achieve their goals through collaborative working and multidisciplinary support.
As one of our Occupational Therapists you will be expected to work on a flexible basis over 5 days, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
About you We are looking for an occupational therapist who is forward thinking and enthusiastic regarding innovative ways of working
You must have good communication skills and the ability to relate to and understand the needs of the person being supported. The skills to work independently, use own initiative and also as a wider multidisciplinary team is essential. You must also have a positive attitude and the motivation to enable people to remain at home and maintain function, independence and to respect their choices.
