Job description
Powys are recruiting enthusiastic, skilled Independent Social Workers who can produce high quality, evidence-based fostering assessments of prospective foster parents and connected persons. You will ideally have experience of completing fostering assessments, however, we also welcome applications from professionals with sound assessment skills and a strong safeguarding background. We offer a competitive market rate of £2500 per assessment, plus travelling expenses of 45p per mile. To qualify you must meet the following criteria:

- Hold a Social Work qualification.

- Have significant post qualification of undertaking relevant assessment work, Ideally, have completed at least one Form F assessment or Family and Friends Assessment, but this is not essential.

-Professional registration with Social Care Wales

-Sound knowledge of childcare legislation

-Hold, or be willing to take out, professional indemnity insurances.

-Driving license and own transport and willing to travel

-Willingness to work on a flexible basis, e.g., evenings and weekends.

-Pass statutory and company checks as part of the assessment process.
