Family Support Worker (Early Help)

About you:
• Excellent communication skills both written and orally including the ability to communicate with children young people and their families and/or carers and families in an appropriate manner
• Ability to write case recordings
• Ability to organise, prioritise and manage work
• Ability to work to a plan and under the close direction of other professionals
• The ability to facilitate group work
What you will do:
• Build positive working relationship with children, young people and their families and work from a child-centred, rights based approach.
• Work with children, young people and their families and/or carers with complex situations, to include those who have experience trauma and abuse. To support children, young people and families using a trauma informed knowledge / practice to develop a support plan.
• Undertake direct work with children, young people and their families or carers, by using a variety of evidence- based models, methods and tools
• To work closely with professionals, and partner agencies, to establish excellent working relationships and meet the needs of children, young people and their families.
• Ensure that the family have an Early Help Assessment and regular Early Help meetings, with a clear Plan of work which shall be reviewed on a 6 - 8 weekly basis.
• Be the Lead Practitioner for the family, will plan and Chair family meetings. The purpose of the intervention is to prevent escalation and families reaching crisis, which would require a more formal statutory responses.
