This open-ended CSW post will provide an opportunity for the successful candidate to deliver expert evidenced based interventions both directly with families and through facilitation with social workers, partner agencies, whilst leading in practice development across the wider service. Support will be provided every step of the way from the established and committed management structure within Children's Services.
The Integrated Family Support Service oversees the effective delivery of our multi-agency Integrated Family Support Team and Edge of Care Practitioners who work in partnership with children, families, carers and professional support networks to identify what matters to them, devise safety and wellbeing plans to increase safety and manage risk to enable service users to achieve positive outcomes for their families. The focus of the team is to build on the assets of individuals and their families within their own communities to reduce their need for statutory social work intervention and therefore, to enable families to live independent of service intervention.
The focus of the role will be to support staff through coaching, mentoring, and consultancy, alongside acting as a resource to the team enhancing our ability to deliver high quality, timely evidenced based solution focused interventions with families in Pembrokeshire.
The post holder will assist the Team Manager in the allocation and authorisation of work alongside supervising staff within the team and holding a small caseload of consultation work and family work. The team have a responsibility to deliver training and workshops relating to practice which the post holder will lead on with the support of the team.
Applicants will need to be social work qualified, with three years post qualification experience and registered as a social worker with Social Care Wales. You will need a working knowledge of the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 and the Wales Safeguarding Procedures 2019 and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
A good understanding and working knowledge of motivational interviewing, signs of safety and solution-focused practice is also required to enable you to fulfil the role.
