An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the Council's Business Support Unit. The successful applicant will work as a member of a Business Support Hub, ensuring efficient, effective, and professional administrative support is provided to the teams in Children Services supporting the children and young people of Torfaen.
You will be required to undertake a variety of tasks including administrative support to our social work teams which will include arranging and participating in agreed service specific meetings, preparation of the agenda and minute taking, creating and sending letters and emails, ensuring that incoming documents and information are uploaded to the database and sent to the appropriate staff member. You may need to liaise with professionals and parents for changes in appointments or answering general queries. The more general duties will include the use of word processing using Microsoft Office packages, data entry work on various software systems (full training will be provided), finance and purchasing functions. Accuracy and confidentiality are essential in all areas of your work.
We are looking for team players who have the skills and experience to be able to work flexibly and prioritise and manage several tasks within a busy fast-paced office environment.
Qualifications \/ Experience:- NVQ Level 3 in Administration, Business, IT (or 6 months equivalent experience).
- Good IT skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent Customer Care skills
- Ability to prioritise own workload.
