Newport City Council Legal Services has an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised Assistant Solicitor. The postholder will be a Qualified solicitor / barrister or equivalent.
Positive and committed to providing a high quality service, you will be able to show initiative and attention to detail as you will be responsible for running a caseload of childcare cases.
Local government legal work is varied and whilst at times it can be challenging, it is also frequently rewarding. There will be times when you need to work under pressure and balance conflicting priorities, however, you will be supported in doing this. You will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to your own development and a willingness to undertake training and develop new skills as required.
Previous experience in local government is desirable. What is important is that you are able to show that you have the skills and attributes set out in the Person Specification and a genuine enthusiasm for the role.
