What a heart warming feeling it is to bring a smile to another’s face. But do you know what lasts longer than a smile? The feeling of supporting and empowering people with learning disabilities and autism to live a life that makes sense to them. Seeing the difference that YOU can make. Now that IS rewarding….
What will I be doing?
You will be supporting adults who have diagnoses of mild to severe learning difficulties, autism, communication delay, health conditions and complex needs. They require their staff to be resilient, fun, understanding, hardworking, consistent, confident and caring. They require a wide range of support with personal care, managing medication and finances, supporting them to access the community, learn new skills , maintaining relationships with family and friends, adapt current skills and a life that makes sense to them.
This is a part-time role of 20 hours per week, working shifts on a rota basis covering days, evenings, nights and weekends.
This really is a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference to someone’s life.
“I would say: try it. It might change your life like it did mine. I am very privileged to love coming to work and that’s a very, very rare thing nowadays.” Chris, a MacIntyre employee who came from a call centre background, who started as a Support Worker and is now a Front Line Manager.
