Social Worker – Direct Services: Fostering Ceredigion County Council

This position qualifies for a market supplement payment of £200 per month. Please note this additional payment will be reviewed on 31 March 2023.

Are you a Qualified Social Worker looking for the opportunity to work in the beautiful, peaceful countryside of West Wales and for a forward-thinking local authority that provides good staff support?

As a qualified social worker you will have post-qualifying experience in child care services and be involved in the recruitment, training, assessing and support of carers in accordance with National Standards in Fostering. You will be supported with regular supervision. There will be an opportunity to participate in new projects.

We are committed to a strengths-based approach using Signs of Safety and is in the process of transformation to a through-age and whole family model which offers greater flexibility to develop plans and services to meet needs and has resulted in some exciting opportunities for collaborative working between departments within the authority as well as with our partner agencies.

We are seeking an individual with a degree of fluency in the Welsh language. A successful applicant without the required Welsh language skills will be fully supported to reach the desired standard within 2 years of appointment.

This post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check and on occasions there will be a requirement to work evenings and weekends.

The successful candidate may be eligible to up to a maximum of £8,000 (including VAT) towards the cost of expenses incurred as a result of relocating to the county of Ceredigion.
