We have two positions available with Pembrokeshire County Council to support people who choose to receive a direct payment to procure their own services. Both posts are for 37 hours per week. One post is permanent and one post temporary for 6 months to cover maternity leave.
The posts are located within our Performance and Business Support teams. These teams work with Social Workers to provide an effective finance service to those in need across Pembrokeshire.
Through the Direct Payments Service, our clients can access a managed account to organise care independently, enabling the delivery of personal, bespoke solutions. The Independent Living Advisor will support the direct payment service user and their family with activities such as the recruitment of Personal Assistants, payroll, budgeting and banking services. The role will involve undertaking regular visits to service users across Pembrokeshire. A driving license will be essential.
You will work to consistent deadlines ensuring that the payment service runs in an efficient, organised manner.
Successful applicants will be in possession of the relevant qualifications and experience of working with people in a supportive role or have significant experience of working in a customer facing environment. Prior knowledge of Direct Payment Services will also be favourable. You will exhibit good customer service and interpersonal skills, which are essential in working with a broad range of clients, colleagues and managers.
