Assistant Area Manager

Swansea

£34,859 per annum

Full-time contract (37.5 hours per week)

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who to play a lead role in the management and development of mirus Supported Living Services in Swansea.

You will play a lead role in developing an asset based, community focused and creative approach to the support services we provide; championing innovation to maximise people’s independence, choice and control.

You will work closely with the Area Manager to ensure we enable the people we support to lead happy and healthy lives as active members of their local communities.

You will play a lead role in ensuring mirus is a great place to work; supporting and developing our local teams to learn new skills and achieve best practice.

You will ensure all mirus support services in Swansea provide high quality, person centred support; meeting all organisational, regulatory and commissioning performance standards.

Essential Criteria

QCF 5 / Registered Managers Award or equivalent in Health & Social Care

Knowledge and working understanding of concepts, principles and legislation involved in developing, improving and implementing Quality Assurance Frameworks.

At least 2 years experience of developing and delivering Person Centred/Citizen Directed Services.

Experience of leading the achievement of individual outcomes through a positive risk taking approach

At least 2 years experience of managing people

Experience of managing financial and human resources

Experience of implementing formal safeguarding processes i.e. POVA, Grievances, Complaints, Risk.

Experience of leading, developing and managing key relationships with commissioners, funders and partner agencies.

Ability to manage the performance of teams and individuals to create a person centred culture

Ability to develop and implement work-plans with a clear vision and accountability structure.

The ability to contribute to the development of business proposals, tenders, bids and grant applications.

Ability to lead, coordinate and facilitate meetings in a variety of settings

Ability to use person centred thinking tools and approaches to support individual choice and control

Promote choice, well-being and the protection of all individuals

Take responsibility for the continuing professional development of self and others

Ability to contribute to the development of organisational policy and practice

Ability to conduct and manage risk to promote independence for people supported and workplace risks assessments.

Ability to contribute to the coordination of workforce plans

The ability to implement quality assurance systems and frameworks and ensure improvements where required.

Desirable Criteria

Additional Management Qualification

Possess a current driving licence and have use of a car to meet the requirements of the post
