Full Time & Part Time Temporary – Support Worker – Newport (Caerleon) Your new company My client is a large, national not for profit organisation that works with adults on the Autistic spectrum, supporting them and their families. They are looking for Support Workers with the passion to work with a fantastic team in a residential service in Caerleon. They want someone who is passionate about giving excellent care and support and is flexible to working number of shifts. My client has availability for both full time hours and part time, and need Support Workers who are flexible. Your new role In this job you will be helping individuals achieve independence and personal goals as we well as supporting them with in the community. You will support service users develop home making skills such as cooking and cleaning and other personal chores. You will be transforming lives and achieving real results for Autistic adults. In this job, service users are living with autism and can sometimes display challenging behaviour, and need support to return to base line and you will be key in supporting individuals to be relaxed as much as possible. You will be able to choose from Full time (30) or Part time (15-20) hours and will need to be flexible to work across 7 days a week. Shift patterns alternate between morning shifts, afternoon/evening shifts and long days. Your working pattern will flex across these, so you will need to be open to these What you’ll need to succeed PBM training is desirable in this role, but not essential. Experience working in a residential setting with individuals with autism and learning disabilities is also desirable. At least 6 months experience working in social care is essential, and needs to have been within the last 2 years. You will need to be able to prove full eligibility to work in the UK and be able to provide 2 relevant references. You will need to be passionate about the care sector and able to demonstrate a resilient nature. You should be compassionate and caring in nature as well as patient and kind. Full UK driving license is also desirable in this role. You will need to be flexible to various shifts across 7 days and be available for mornings, evenings and long days. You will need to be resilient, supportive and sensitive towards the needs of autistic people. Being a support worker takes passion, patience and commitment.
