Adult Care Home Nurse

As a Care Home Nurse, you’ll provide person-centred care to residents often with complex health needs.

Being a Care Home Nurse

You’ll work as part of a team with other care professionals by focusing on residents’ health conditions and the impact they have on their participation in social activity.

Considering best clinical practice, you’ll support resident’s choice of intervention and focus on early identification of changes in symptoms to avoid emergencies.

You’ll also support management and be responsible for keeping up to date records for each resident.

About the workplace

You'll often find registered nurses working in care homes to cater for anyone who requires around the clock care. These are often called nursing homes.

Karen's Story

Karen began her social care journey at 18 and worked in a learning disability school. After years of progression, she has won Wales Nurse of the Year and has worked in social care settings as a nurse all her career.

Getting started as a Care Home Nurse
