Job description
Youth Intervention Service (YIS) Worker Job description About the role: To work as a Youth Intervention Service Worker and to be responsible for
assessments, management of a case load and the delivery of interventions designed to prevent social and educational exclusion of children and young people and to ensure their inclusion in mainstream services. About you: Ability to form positive relationships and to act as a role model with children and young people at risk of offending and/or committing anti-social behaviour Flexible approach to working within a team and a willingness to undertake a variety of tasks An understanding of the risk factors associated with social exclusion Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and through differing mediums What you will do: Be responsible for undertaking assessments of individual children and young people, preparing reports and translating assessments into plans in accordance with departmental procedures and timescales. To deliver direct interventions to children and young people as identified in intervention plans. To provide support to the parents/carers of children and young people who are in receipt of interventions. To work remotely in schools and in families' homes and to deliver group work and presentations in schools as required. To negotiate and refer children and their families into appropriate services provided by public and voluntary sector. To develop and sustain effective working relationships with a range of agencies, both statutory and voluntary who deliver services to children and young people.
