We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Manager to lead our Commissioning for Complex Needs Team within Adult Social Care. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for the operational management, professional oversight and ongoing development of a specialist social work team working with adults with complex needs.
As Team Manager, you will provide strong leadership and professional social work direction, ensuring high-quality, strengths-based and outcome-focused practice in line with the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 and the Progression Model. You will be responsible for overseeing complex assessments and reviews, supporting effective commissioning decisions, and ensuring care and support plans are proportionate, evidence-based and focused on promoting independence and wellbeing.
You will manage and support a specialist team through supervision, coaching and performance management, while also holding a small, complex caseload. The role involves close partnership working with internal and external stakeholders, including health colleagues and service providers, to ensure effective use of resources and high-quality outcomes for individuals.
You will be a qualified and registered social worker with Social Care Wales, with substantial post-qualification experience in complex adult social care and proven experience of supervising or managing staff. You will have strong knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice, experience of managing resources and performance, and a clear commitment to strengths-based, outcome-focused practice.
You will bring excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to inspire and develop others, manage change and work collaboratively across organisational boundaries.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-quality commissioning practice for adults with complex needs within a supportive and forward-thinking directorate.
