We need staff to take the children to meet their parents or family. The contact is supervised in order to make sure the children are safe and it is a positive experience for them.
We would provide training and many family contacts require two staff members mainly for logistical reasons so you would not work on your own until you felt confident in the role.
A typical family contact would be picking the child/children up from school, attending an activity with parents and then taking them home. A short record is kept of the family contact but again training would be given and with each family contact a risk assessment is completed so staff are aware of any risks and feel confident managing them.
