Foster Wales Bridgend offers a great opportunity to further your social work career. As a member of the Kinship and Permanence team, you will benefit from being part of a well-established, supportive, and stable staff team who assess and support Kinship foster carers. We strive to ensure Foster Carers are provided with the right support at the right time to ensure that children and young people in their carer achieve the best possible outcomes including permanence.
Your role as Supervising Social Worker will be to complete robust, timely assessments and annual reveiws of kinship carers and provide supportive supervision including dedicated learning and development opportunities. To support you in your role, you will receive a robust induction, regular reflective supervision, training as well as additional support and mentoring where required. We strive to ensure Supervising Social Workers have manageable caseloads and are able to access additional placement support from dedicated Placement Support Workers and a dedicated team of Reunification Workers who can provide support to a child during transition between placements, ensure placement stability and work collaboratively with children's social workers to support children and young people return to parents care. You will also have access to consultations with a behaviour analyst to support placement stability and carer wellbeing. You will receive a robust induction, regular reflective supervision as well as additional support and mentoring where required. We utilise the Signs of Safety model of practice and will offer support and training to practitioners joining us who have not received this training or worked with this model previously. The role will involve collaborative working across all the Childrens teams within the Local Authority, in particular the Care Experienced Team who support children looked after. We also work closely with the General Fostering Team who we are co-located with and share duty.
