About the jobThe post holder will undertake assessments and reviews with individuals who have learning disabilities and their parents/carers. They will support people to identify needs and outcomes and set up packages of care. The team supports people to access a wide range of activities and services. We also assist people to resolve problems and to keep themselves safe. We focus on the strengths of the people we work with and seek opportunities to support people to feel valued and included in their communities. We are committed to enabling people with learning disabilities to maximise independence, choice and control and to support them to live their lives the way they want to.
What We Are Looking For From YouWe are seeking to recruit enthusiastic people who have experience of working with people with a learning disability, are passionate about supporting people to be in control of their lives, offer excellent communication and written skills and have a flexible approach to meet the demands of a busy team.
•You will be willing to undertake training and learn about the legislative framework in which the team operate.
•You will be committed to training, peer support sessions and supervision.
•You will uphold social work values and work in an anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive way.
•You will be willing to undertake strengthened based social work and learn to explain this when describing your practice.
•You will want to work in the capital city of Wales in Services where we support each other and work in partnership with our colleagues in Health.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right people to build a solid career base in social care and contribute to the provision of a quality service to people with a learning disability and their carers. Successful candidates will be provided with regular supervision and support, learning and development opportunities. We practice hybrid working and we will need to you be based in our Cardiff office at least 2 days a week. We require you to be a car driver and to have access to your own car.
