Come and join our team Carmarthenshire County Council are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, qualified Vision Rehabilitation Specialist with management experience to join the Visual Impairment Team and provide leadership to a team of 4 Vision Rehabilitation Specialists.
You must have management experience, and possess good knowledge of eye conditions and visual impairment aids and technology and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
The role will involve supervision of the 4 Team Members, representing the Team at National and Local meetings, promoting the service and management performance as well as assessing the needs of individuals and providing relevant advice, aids and training to help them to achieve their goals and empower them to lead independent and fulfilling lives. You should be able to screen and allocate new referrals into the service in a flexible, calm and objective manner whilst supporting staff and ensuring that the Local authority provide high quality interventions.
The role will require you to work with adults of all ages with varied eye conditions and circumstances, and deal with complex cases as and when they arise.
The role is based in Ammanford and it involves working county-wide in the community. There is flexibility to work from offices in Carmarthen and Llanelli and from home when suitable.
