Job description
Fixed term for 12 monthsWe have an exciting opportunity to lead and develop the research function of a new Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) within the Council. The HDRC will boost research capacity across the Council and embed a culture of always using evidence when making decisions. The Council has secured 5-year funding from the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) to establish this new and innovative collaboration, that will carry out research to identify how the Council can improve community health and reduce health inequality.
This is an exciting role for the Council, where you will lead research teams to oversee and carry out research on priority topics related to the wider determinants of health. We are looking for an experienced researcher who will lead on the development and implementation of the HDRC research strategy and develop a research culture across the Council.
Working with other researchers in the team, you will take a lead on applying for grant funding to further meet the research objectives of the HDRC, and therefore have experience writing and managing research funding applications.
