Your workstyle will be a mobile hybrid worker in this role which gives you the flexibility to work from home and from a variety of Council workplaces.
About the role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right person to join Neath Port Talbot Youth Justice Service as a Senior Practitioner to cover a period of maternity leave. We are a multi-agency team committed to preventing and reducing youth crime across the county of Neath Port Talbot. Aligned with Children's Services, the Youth Justice Service works closely with area-based teams and other key partner agencies to safeguard and prevent the exploitation of young people.
This role provides the opportunity to work with a skilled, motivated and dedicated workforce, who are passionate about improving outcomes for children, families and victims of crime and working according to the Child First principles. As a valued member of the service, you will have a key role in supportingcontinued improvements to practice,contributing tothe setting and delivery of strategic priorities, and ensuring the smooth and efficientdeliveryof services.

- Can see beyond the offence and see the child.
- Want to tackle head on disproportionality and inequality across youth justice.
- Believe that behaviour is a form of communication and offending is symptomatic of their experiences.
- Are committed to hearing the voice of the child, their families/carers and their victims and bringing this into the centre of what we do.
- Want to work with children to build on their strengths and promote a childhood removed from the justice system.
- Are passionate, motivated, and enthusiastic about delivering high quality services to children, victims, caregivers, and communities.
- Have experience and skills relevant to the job description and person specification.
- Have a desire to work with and alongside others, to learn, innovate and deliver improvements.
The post requires a Degree in Social Work or equivalent e.g. DipSW, CQSW and you must be registered with Social Care Wales.
