TIOT takes a multi-disciplinary approach, working together with partner agencies to meet the social care needs of children and adults, their families, and carers within Torfaen. Our aim is to work proactively with individuals, to promote choice, independence, control, positive risk taking and meaningful social inclusion to achieve positive outcomes in the areas that matter most to them. The successful candidate will have an essential role in identifying manual handling needs, making safe equipment and adaptation prescriptions and recommendations, and working alongside both paid and unpaid carers to ensure safety is maximised and individual choices and aims are central, enabling fulfilled lives. This is an exciting opportunity for an occupational therapist to work in this unique structure, being based within a team of peer, supportive occupational therapist (OT's) and being the identified link to Ty Glas Y Dorlan wellbeing rehabilitation hub. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, proactive, creative and forward-thinking professional, with a genuine commitment to working towards achieving the best outcomes for individuals. They will be flexible, motivated and committed to put the individual's strengths, voice, choice and control at the centre of any interventions and be able to work effectively as part of a team or working on own initiative. Applicants will be a qualified and registered OT with a real desire to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities. You will be responsible for providing supervision and support to Reablement Practitioners (RP's) based at Ty Glas Y Dorlan and more junior staff within TIOT. They will also offer clinical placements for OT students.
