Opportunity has arisen for the temporary position of Workforce Section Manager for Workforce Service, Integrated Adults and Community services, via a fixed term contract/secondment for 18 months.
The Workforce Section Manager will report to the Service Manager Workforce and will serve as the lead manager for workforce within social care.
This role requires managing and supporting the implementation of workforce development strategies across services for children, families, and adults, including those commissioned externally. The goal is to ensure that the Social Care workforce is adequately sized, skilled, trained, and equipped with necessary safety checks to promote the well-being of individuals with care and support needs in Conwy.
Key responsibilities include managing three workforce teams:
1. Workforce Development & Learning: Providing comprehensive learning programs across the social care sector, including qualifying and post-qualifying programs and implementing national strategies such as the National Safeguarding Standard and More Than Just Words. 2. Workforce Business Support: Delivering extensive administrative support to social care managers and staff concerning training and HR services and functions. 3. Workforce Recruitment and Retention: Developing programs and services to support workforce sustainability throughout the entire social care sector.
The role will also involve close partnership working with Statutory Partners, including other Local Authorities, the Local Health Board, Independent Providers, and Third Sector organisations.
As this can be offered on a secondment basis you should discuss and seek agreement from your manager in advance of the application.
Provisional interview date has been arranged for 17th October 2025.
