Are you passionate about helping young people have the best life possible? At Sylva Gardens, we work together to create a caring, supportive home for 3 children and young people up to the age of 18 with learning disabilities. We focus on each child's needs, helping them build skills, independence, and a sense of belonging in their community.
About the Role: • No experience needed-just a caring attitude and a willingness to learn. • As a Level 1 Worker, you'll start your career with us and get plenty of support. • You'll attend college while to gain your core qualification whilst working within Sylva Gardens.
Training and Support: • Experienced staff will mentor and coach you, helping you build confidence and skills. • You'll learn how to support children in their daily lives, handle challenging situations, and communicate effectively. • Training covers important approaches like 'Active Support' and 'Positive Behaviour Support'-all designed to help children thrive and help you deal with difficult encounters and critical situation and how to apply appropriate strategies to support the young people to manage behaviours that challenge. • After you complete your qualification and probation period, you'll automatically progress to Level 2, where you'll take on more responsibility and work flexible hours to meet the needs of the children. • Develop trusted professional relationships with children and young people to keep them safe, balancing empowerment and limit setting in a nurturing, supportive and consistent way. • Develop own skills to successfully communicate with the child/young person following a strategy that they would understand.
What We're Looking For: • Friendly, trustworthy, and supportive people with a positive outlook. • Someone who can build good relationships with children and is open to learning new things. • Work unsociable hours, and the ability to do Sleep in & Waking Nights once progressing to being a Level 2 worker.
