Our Children's Residential homes provide support, guidance and care for children and young people between the ages of 10 and 18. Our children and young people may present with wellbeing and emotional difficulties which may impact on their behaviours and risk taking.

Who do we want to recruit?
Are you hard working, relatable, resilient, motivated and enthusiastic, and most of all enjoy making young people laugh and have fun.

Do you have the ability to listen and understand children and young people and advocate on their behalf?
Do you have the personality and communication skills to contribute to a warm, caring and supportive environment?

Could you be responsible for the day-to-day care of the young people as well as ensuring their needs are assessed and their personal plans are developed and implemented? Then this is the job for you.

About the role
We are looking to recruit a number of full-time officers.
You will have to be patient with a positive attitude towards improving the lives of our children and young people. The role can be challenging but extremely rewarding.

You need to be resourceful with the ability to form relationships quickly whilst working as part of a team towards agreed aims and wellbeing outcomes. You will be highly motivated, have good communication and IT skills and have a clear understanding of the needs of the young people and their families.

Successful candidates will be required to work shifts over a 7-day period including days, evenings, nights, weekends and overnight sleep-ins. There will be an enhanced working rate for this.

If you are successful additional recruitment checks will include a check for any criminal convictions and will check the barred list. Written references will be taken up upon being successful at interview.

In return

You will ideally have a QCF Qualification Level 3 Health and Social Care, Children and Young People, but not essential.
We welcome applications from anyone who has other skills that they can bring to the role but are also prepared to work towards completing the qualification within a reasonable timescale. You will receive full support to do this.
You will receive essential training and ongoing opportunities to enhance your knowledge and understanding of the role and how to best support the young people in the service.
