The teams within the Children and Families Services Division at Torfaen provide a range of services to support families to ensure children remain with their families and where possible to participate in community activities. Inter-agency working is a significant feature of the Children and Families Services approach to service delivery, and you will play a key role in working jointly with partner agencies and in working collaboratively in the development of new services. We are currently looking to recruit Relief Family Support Assistants. The successful candidates will be required to work in the Family Resource Team to carry out supervised family time sessions between children and their parents\/ other family members.
As a Relief Family Support Assistant, you will be required to work when you are needed. Appropriate training and induction will be provided, alongside regular supervision.
As a member of the Family Resource Team, you will be part of a flexible team that aims to provide a high-quality support service for children and their families. Integral to the service is an ethos of valuing difference and promoting the opportunity for children and young people to have positive experiences which maximise their life chances.
The Family Resource Team provides a diverse range of services to children, young people and their families. As well as supervised family time, we also offer Direct Work programmes and Parenting Capacity Assessments. The role of the contact worker (Relief Family Support Assistant) is integral to the assessment process.
